Pagebet make redundancies
Regional bookmakers Pagebet have had to let
approxiamately 115 staff go. The job losses
come as the company seeks buyers for their
bookmakers across the North East. The shops
that could not be sold have left many unemployed
although had Pagebet not found buyers for
their other bookmakers then there would have
been many more redundancies on the books.
The buyers, Stan James Ltd, who have purchased
the sites will be paying out on all selections
that are running meaning the punters will
still have a chance of picking up something
even though many of the staff will be looking
for new work.
